About BID – Enjoy Wolverhampton
BID, also known as Enjoy Wolverhampton, is a non-profit organisation founded in 2015. The organisation is led by local Wolverhampton businesses.
BID is a business improvement district that provides a voice to local businesses and helps to put Wolverhampton on the map. BID aims to improve Wolverhampton’s city centre so that it’s a clean, attractive, and welcoming place to visit.
Some of the ways they do this is by putting on events for the community, raising money, and supporting local charities.
What Was The Security Risk?
This case study is a great example of our security guard services.
BID was running a service called ‘Late Night Safe Haven and First Aid Provision’. This event was set throughout the evening. The event’s main purpose was to support the community and help the local accident and emergency departments. The event provided visitors with any support they may need such as first aid, general advice, and free cups of water. It also provided people with a way to get home safely.
Another purpose of the event was to reduce crime in Wolverhampton. In 2023, Wolverhampton experienced an increase in anti-social behaviour such as property damage, harassment, and vandalism. Crime is at its peak during the night. Many vandals believe they commit crimes more easily. They also believe that won’t get caught in the dark.
BID was looking for some additional security to help secure the event. They reached out to us. And we quickly provided them with a personalised security solution that suited their needs.
How Did We Help Them?
Region Security Guarding and BID have been working together since 2023. We provided BID with security guards for their evening event ‘Late Night Safe Haven’.
Our guards had two main duties. These were to keep all employees and visitors safe and to deter criminals. One way our guards did this was through their strong security presence. An officer’s strong security presence is a visible deterrent. It instantly shows criminals that an event has good protection in place. Thus, scaring them away. Our guards’ security presence also creates a safer working environment. This safer working environment allows visitors at the event to feel more comfortable about their safety.
Another way our guards deter criminals is through regular patrols. Throughout the event, our guards frequently patrolled the area. These patrols helped our guards get a better understanding of the event’s current safety and allowed them to quickly look out for criminals.
